How to Prepare for Your Roof Replacement

A little prep on your end goes a long way toward keeping your roof replacement fast, safe, and messfree. Here's exactly what to expect and how to get your property ready before our crew arrives.
Before the Crew Arrives
- Clear the driveway. Our crew needs full access to the roofline so debris can go straight into the dump trailer.
- Move vehicles out of the garage. Trucks will be loading and unloading shingles and debris throughout the day, so garage access needs to stay clear.
- Move or cover items around the exterior. Outdoor furniture, plants, grills, and equipment near the house should be moved or covered. We take precautions to protect your property, but clearing the area first helps prevent damage.
- Plan for early starts. Crews are often on-site as early as 7:00 AM.
On the Day of the Project
You do not need to be home while we replace your roof. If you do stay home, or have kids or pets on the property, keep them away from the work area — there will be ladders, trucks, and falling debris throughout the day.
What Happens If We Find Roof Deck Damage
Once the old shingles are torn off, we inspect the roof decking underneath. If we find rotted or damaged wood that wasn't visible before the tear-off, we'll contact you immediately before doing anything further. We'll walk you through what we found, what it'll cost to fix, and get your approval before any additional material or labor is added to your original estimate — no surprise charges after the fact.
